FAVORITE CHRISTMAS BOOKS
It’s no secret that we love books in our home, & holiday books make things all the more nostalgic & merrier! These are a few holiday books we are loving right now, from board books, to classics, to new favorites. I hope they bring you as much joy & cheer as they do for us!
BOARD BOOKS
DREAM SNOW A fun Eric Carl holiday tale that includes counting, farm animals (Buddy’s favorite!) & lift-the-flap pages, we love this book!
S IS FOR SANTA BABY LIT This book is absolutely darling & Buddy loves the illustrations (the people are so cheerful!). It walks through the entire alphabet with each letter representing a Christmas theme. I personally love that the illustrations are diverse & that “P is for Presents” is depicted in a hospital setting & that “V” is for “Volunteering”.
LLAMA LLAMA HOLIDAY DRAMA This is Buddy’s absolute favorite book right now- we read it about 6-7 times a day. He loves the rhythm of the rhyme & the illustrations & I love the sentiment of the story.
DEAR SANTA This is wrapped & ready for Buddy on the advent calendar but for as much as he loves Dear Zoo I know this will be a huge hit.
THE NUTCRACKER BABY LIT We love the baby lit books, each one uses classic literature for different primers- this one being a dancing primer!
FA LA LA Buddy loves the baby in this one & it cracks me up as well. A sweet & simple festive read.
MERRY CHRISTMAS, MOUSE! Buddy has It’s Pumpkin Day, Mouse! & we read it multiple times a day during October, it’s easily one of his favorites so I know that once he receives this version from the advent calendar he will love it just as much.
WHERE IS BABY’S CHRISTMAS PRESENT A sweet & simple lift-the-flab book for little ones. Buddy loves all the lift-the-flap books.
A CHRISTMAS CAROL BABY LIT This Baby Lit book is a colors primer with the characters from A Christmas Carol. I adore the illustrations.
CLASSICS
A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS I remember this book from my childhood. It’s a bit too long for Buddy right now but he enjoys looking at the illustrations of Snoopy & the gang.
THE GINGERBREAD MAN Such a fun, rhythmic rhyming book that you can do a ton of fun activities with! My pre-school students loved retelling the story with this gingerbread play dough.
HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS A personal favorite of mine from childhood, a must for our collection!
THE POLAR EXPRESS Another classic we couldn’t leave out of our collection & is sure to have kids & adults alike believing in the magic of the season.
MADELINE’S CHRISTMAS This story is a little more unique but Madeline never seems to disappoint with all of her whimsical happenings.
THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS We have a few versions of this classic tale but last year we added the large hardback edition to our collection. If you want something more quirky The Little Critter’s version is fun too.
THE LITTLE GOLDEN BOOK CHRISTMAS STORIES This is all of the Little Golden Book Christmas Classics in one book, a total of 9 stories!
NEW FAVORITES
IF YOU TAKE A MOUSE TO THE MOVIES If you are a fan of the If You Give a Mouse a Cookie books you will adore this holiday version. In typical fashion, the mouse has many grand ideas for the holiday.
CHRISTMAS WITH GRETA AND GRACIE This is an adorable tale of two sisters & their Christmas adventures with incredibly fun illustrations.
THE LITTLE REINDEER I absolutely love this sweet & magical story with beautiful illustrations & little peek-a-boo cutouts.
OLIVE THE OTHER REINDEER Have you ever heard of Olive? My pre-school students used to love the tale of this "other" reindeer, & adults will too!
SNOWMEN AT CHRISTMAS An adorable rhyming companion to Snowmen at Night with breathtaking illustrations. This is one of my favorites of the modern Christmas books.
