HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE 2020

1.png

This is more than a standard gift guide, these are things that truly enhanced this past year for me (& we all know how much 2020 needed any & all enhancements). This is a guide I would shop from (& have shopped from!) for all my fave folks. This is a guide of items I would treat myself to over & over again. This is a guide I would kindly pass off to my spouse or partner as my personal wishlist. So however you use it, I hope it brings joy to you or whoever is on the receiving end.

While some of the items on here I received as gifts I would have/have purchased them for myself & others. These items all come from small businesses & I am proud to recommend these items in this year’s gift guide!

1. Promptly Gratitude Journal- I’ve been a long-time fan of Promptly (their Childhood History Journals are what I use to document my memories of my children from pregnancy to 18 years!) & they have a wonderful collection of beautifully designed journals for a number of purposes. The Gratitude Journal includes prompts to thoughtfully focus on gratitude daily, I’m gifting a few of these this year myself!

2. Olive & June Vegan Nail Polish- I share about this nail polish often as it has quickly become my favorite to wear & gift to others. Their color selection is fantastic, their polishes are vegan & 7-free & this polish lasts longer on my nails than any other I’ve tried in the past. They offer seasonal collections too. (Use this referral link to save $10 on orders $50+ *not an affiliate link.)

3. The Book of Delights: Essays by Ross Gay- This is one of my favorite books I’ve read this year & it’s a collection of essays written by Ross Gay which, as the name suggests, will delight any type of reader & furthermore offers powerful & necessary insights on many important topics. I read the essays little-by-little over the span of several weeks which made it all-the-more enjoyable. I found my copy through Common Place Books in Oklahoma City but you can likely call your favorite indie bookseller to see if they have an available copy or order through Bookshop.org, an online retailer that supports independent booksellers.

4. Vitruvi Stone Diffuser- This has long been my favorite diffuser to diffuse essential oils with, not only because it looks beautiful in any space but because the output of the diffuser is dreamy. It’s part of my evening ritual to fill it up & diffuse lavender every night while I read in bed & drift off to sleep. (Use code “vitruvixbrittany” for 20% off! *affiliate code & link, I earn a small commission from the sale.)

5. Glossier Balm Dotcom Roulette- Balm Dotcom, the do-everything balm, has been my go-to for many years & Glossier makes a wide variety of options— my all-time favorite is mint (so soothing) but the berry & cherry flavors have a lovely tint of color & their other scents are delightful too, which makes it really hard to choose which to give as gifts… enter Glossier’s limited edition Balm Dotcom Roulette a selection of 3 random Balm Dotcom flavors in a swanky gold playing card box! (*affiliate link, I earn a small commission from the sale & you save 10% on your first order.)

6. Looking Up Daily Meditation Course with David Romanelli- Last year my beloved friend, mentor & yoga instructor gifted me a daily meditation course with the guru David Romanelli. I could go on & on & on & on (you get it…) about the profound impacts of prioritizing meditation daily & being part of David’s course, it was truly one of the best gifts I have ever received. David records these mediations in real-time so as the pandemic began to unfold his mediations were reflective of the current reality, I can’t express how essential this was for my mental health this past year. David has a gift for helping any & everyone experience the benefits of daily meditation practice that is also relevant to the times. For the same price as a daily cup of coffee, this daily mediation course can & will transform your life. His next course begins on December 15th, what a wonderful way to wrap up 2020 & head into 2021.

7. Our Place Always Pan- We have been using our Our Place Always plan for most of the year & it is a workhorse. When we moved across the country we toted it with us while we waited 17 days to see the items we packed in the moving truck again & we were able to use our Always Pan to cook any and all meals, from pancakes to pasta. It’s deep enough to boil water & cook noodles yet wide enough to sautee veggies & make pancakes. We are gifting this to a few folks on our list this year because we love it that much (plus those color options are so cool). Their plates, bowls & glasses are also amazing & they even offer a stellar bundle for everything!

8. Parachute Cloud Cotton Robe- I love any & everything Parachute makes (see my blog post raving about them) & this Cloud Cotton Robe would make a beautiful gift for just about anyone on your list, it’s super soft & luxurious & comes in tons of gorgeous colors. (*affiliate link, I earn a small commission on any sales generated.)

9. Jiggy Puzzles- When the pandemic kicked-off my husband & I decided to use our extra time at home to work on a puzzle together & it was SO MUCH FUN. Jiggy offers the most beautiful puzzles I have ever seen, created by a variety of artists, that you can frame when completed, an ideal gift for a wide-range of recipients.

10. Still The Slow Home- This book is rather new to me but I love the content & message, especially after moving into a new home & aspiring to live a “slow” lifestyle. Filled to the brim with beautiful pictures, inspiration & important content this book also makes a wonderful coffee table book. If you can, get in touch with your local independent bookstore to request a copy or order online through Bookshop.org.

11. Ceramic Thumb Mug- Whenever this mug makes an appearance on my Instagram I get a flood of questions. I am a big fan of handmade ceramics (if I was gifted unique handmade pottery pieces for the rest of my life I would have no complaints!) & when I stumbled upon Hanselmann Pottery I instantly fell in love with their ceramic goods but was even more pumped to learn they are from New Mexico, the state I was raised in.

12. Golden Coil Customizable Planner- Golden Coil planners are 100% customizable & offer a ton of templates to choose from to create the perfect planner for all types of planning needs. I’m going on my 3rd year of using a Golden Coil planner & plan to use them for the foreseeable future. You can purchase a gift card so the recipient can customize their own planner & their production times (in my experience) are always impressively fast.

Please let me know if you gift (or receive!) any of these things & what you think. And if you have any suggestions for future gift guides that you think I’d enjoy I am always open to suggestions & ideas, especially if they support small businesses.
